Chris Rispin BSc FRICS

Chris is the Managing Director of BlueBox partners he has had previous experience in private practice in and around South Yorkshire before having a senior operational role at HBOS in their Valuation and Survey division. He followed this as Technical Director at Allied Surveyors, before taking up the role as Director of Technical Services at Allied Surveyors Diligence Limited. Chris has overall management responsibility for BlueBox partners and specializes in forensic investigations into residential property valuations, having had many years of assessing reports for purposes of Quality Assurance and investigating negligence claims.

He has co-authored, with Phil Parnham two books entitled "Residential Property Appraisal" and the "Home Inspector's Handbook". He has also written numerous articles in respect of the valuation of residential property, including the principle section on the subject in isurv (the RICS technical website) He has presented numerous courses including the series on "Property Horrors" and Expert Witness.

Alan Appleby BSc FRICS FNAEA

With over 30 years experience in residential and commercial property on a variety of levels (including traditional partnership, lending institution, development and estate agency), Alan now operates from a base in Staffordshire focussing mainly on residential survey and valuation matters with a particular interest in Listed and historic buildings. He is an accredited NVQ assessor and delivers presentations and training modules on behalf of RICS and other networks. He is also a part-time director of a manufacturing company.

Larry Russen BSc FRICS FBEng IRRV

Larry is a Chartered Building Surveyor and Director in a firm of chartered surveyors that specialise in commercial and residential building surveying, building design, construction/contract management, energy assessment and defects analysis. He is also Director and Board Member of Allied Surveyors plc.

He is an assessor, internal verifier and trainer for NES/SAVA where he also qualified as a NHER Plan assessor. Larry has just completed the "Domestic Energy Assessor's Handbook" with Phil Parnham (see below) and teaches across the programme.

Phil Parnham

Phil, who is a Chartered Building Surveyor, has many years experience in both the property sector and higher education and he has developed a range of training and development services for practitioners. Phil coordinates our 'Diagnosis of Building Defects Service' and has a particular expertise in resolving dampness problems.

He has written a number of technical books including "Residential Property Appraisal" for Spon Press, "The Home Inspector's Handbook" for RICS Books (both with Chris Rispin), the "The Domestic Assessor's Handbook" (with Larry Russen), and "The Surveyor's Guide to the RICS HomeBuyer Service".
