The new HomeBuyer Report (HBR) was launched on July 1st. The Practice Note has been published, over 1,100 surveyors attended the RICS HBR Roadshow during its nationwide tour and RICS Books plans to have the 'Surveywriter' software available soon and to publish 'The Surveyor's Guide to the RICS HomeBuyer Report' in mid-September. However useful these initiatives have been, few people have actually seen a complete HBR, let alone written one themselves.
The best way to prepare for your launch of the HomeBuyer Report before you offer the service to your clients is to complete one yourself. This will allow you to evaluate your strengths and weaknesses and adjust your approach so you can offer the new product with confidence.
The BlueBox partners HBR Assessment Service supports this process and includes the following features:
- Stage One - you choose a typical and recently completed HSV from your files. Using the RICS Practice Note and other information that we will provide, you convert this into a HBR for the same property;
- Stage Two - send the new HBR, the original HSV, your site notes and appropriate photographs to BlueBox partners for assessment;
- Stage Three - the HBR will be assessed by one of our Directors against the standards described in the Practice Note and other official documentation;
- Stage Four - the assessor will send you an assessment report identifying the strengths and weaknesses and recommend an appropriate action plan for your life long learning strategy.
